Engr. Rafael F. Florentino

The Mapúa Electrical Engineering Alumni Association (MEEAA) proudly confers upon Engr. Rafael F. Florentino the 1st Alamat ng Mapúa Award, honoring his exemplary legacy as a scholar, educator, leader, and trailblazer in the field of electrical engineering. A consistent topnotcher in national board and civil service examinations, Engr. Florentino dedicated 36 years of service to the National Power Corporation, rising from Cadet Engineer to Assistant to the President, while shaping the nation’s power sector and mentoring future engineers. Beyond his professional achievements, he shared his expertise as a respected faculty member at Mapúa for three decades, earning continuous recognition for excellence in teaching. His distinguished career, capped by the PRC Outstanding Electrical Engineer Award in 1999, reflects his lifelong commitment to advancing the profession and uplifting the Mapúan community.

Engr. Florentino, who recently celebrated his 100th birthday, is a living testament to excellence, passion, and commitment. He exemplifies the true spirit of Mapúan: discipline, excellence, commitment, integrity, and relevance in his chosen field. His journey reflects not only hard work but also the dedication that inspires us all. Through this recognition, MEEAA celebrates Engr. Florentino as a true symbol of Mapúa excellence and inspiration for generations of engineers.
